Lil’ Drug Store Products will enhance the market for the innovative Pre-Seed brand by adding it to a lineup that has firmly established the company as one of the leading advocates for creating new solutions in women’s health. Pre-Seed will join a portfolio of well-known, trusted and physician-recommended brands including estrogen-free Replens Long-Lasting Vaginal Moisturizer, RepHresh Vaginal Gel, RepHresh Pro-B, and Wellgate orthopedic supports.
Lil’ Drug Store Products has created a line-up of products that makes a significant difference in women’s lives every day. I am personally impressed by LDSP’s dedication to women’s health.
LDSP is owned by Chris and Suzy DeWolf and retains a family focus in the business that mirrors our own corporate culture. We won an Excellence Award for the Pre-Seed box at the 69th Annual Paperboard Packaging Competition!
Dr E. came up with the basic carton design, choosing bright new colors from the 2012 Pantone color report. She chose the picture of the couple to represent our “seriously fun” theme. Sean Maloney, our graphic designer, then reduced her ideas to the crisp, fun look. Sonderen Packaging suggested we do UV treatment of the couple so they stand out brightly, and we added soft touch (like iPod packaging) to the bottom of the box so that if feels warm and fuzzy when you pick up the Pre-Seed carton.
Sonderen is a member of the Paperboard Packaging Council that sponsors the competition. They entered our carton because they felt strongly that the graphic design and special manufacturing treatments effectively communicate our message to couples who are trying to conceive.
Six judges reviewed over 100 entries, taking into consideration everything from intent of the design and impact on the store shelf to structure and printing quality.
We're excited to have received an award in this competitive contest. For an idea of who we were up against, the top Paperboard Package of the Year award went to the new package design for 10-Count Capri Sun cartons for Kraft Foods. You can see us in the competition's Excellence Award slideshow, along with packaging for Lindor chocolates, Twilight DVDs, Kleenex, Yoohoo, DiGiorno pizza, Victoria's Secret, Whiskas', Iams, and even a Stephen King book set.
